Challenge

Manage and hedge arising risks associated with the presence of an ageing code at the core of a critical device design process.

Resolution

Detailed report outlining strengths and weaknesses of the current situation, possible risks and their mitigations, together with a clear action plan including an exhaustive technological overview for possible re-writing.

A first, yet crucial, step was meeting all the actual software users in order to properly identify the variety of parameters to be taken into account in the code analysis.
