Lana obtained a M.Sc in Physics in 2016 and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics in 2020 from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
During her studies, she spent a semester in Amsterdam in the context of an Erasmus exchange. She also did an internship in Bristol where she worked on modelling cosmic ray muon tomography. For her thesis, she studied biological networks at different scales: from small gene regulatory systems to large microbial communities. Her research focused on the dynamics of proteins exhibiting non monotonic feedback and mathematical models of microbial time-series. Her interest in software development is not new: she discovered it during her bachelor's degree and has continued to develop her coding skills ever since, more specifically in Python and C++.
Lana joined B12 Consulting in October 2020 as an Associate. In her free time she enjoys rowing, reading and playing the cello.
