Sebastian obtained a M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) in 2016. He then started a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at KULeuven.

His research focused on the software/hardware co-design of deep learning accelerators for voice command recognition. Sebastian explored optimization of machine learning algorithms on embedded devices, as well as developed integrated circuits for executing these models more efficiently. He was a research visitor at Delft University (2015) working on the development of efficient VLIW processors for low power applications. In 2020, he carried out a remote PhD internship at Skyworks (USA), working on the implementation of embedded platforms for speech recognition.

Sebastian joined B12 in July 2021 as an Analyst Developer. In his pastime he loves to paint, play football and dance.
