Caroline obtained a master in Mathematics in 2003 and a Ph.D. in Physics in 2007 from the KULeuven (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven), Belgium. She then turned to the human sciences to apply her analytic skills, as a Sampling Expert for the International Organisation for the Assessment of Education Achievement in Hamburg, Germany and as a Data Analyst at the Swiss Centre of Expertise in the Social Sciences in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 2019, she obtained a Ph.D. in Sociology from the KULeuven where she worked as a Researcher and Teaching Assistant.
Her research and work as a Survey Methodologist involved analysing issues affecting survey data and finding solution to improve data quality as well as studying the effect of data quality on substantive research. During a career she developed expertise in data exploration and visualisation as well as modeling using complex statistical models such as mixed models or survival data analyses. She was involved in different international networks in her field of Research and as an Associate Editor of an online journal, Survey Methods: Insights from the Field.
Caroline joined the B12 team in February of 2019 as an Associate, specialised in Advanced Data Analytics. She is the mother of two young daughters, loves dancing, running, cooking or reading a book.
