Jakub joined B12 Consulting in April 2025 as an Analyst Developer. He holds a Master’s degree in Applied Informatics with a specialisation in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology from Masaryk University, Czech Republic. During his Master’s studies, Jakub joined projects at the Global Change Research Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, where he worked as a Researcher on the development of mathematical models of autonomous circadian rhythms in cyanobacteria. These models provided insights into metabolism control, with applications in industrial biotechnology for photobioreactor production optimisation.
Jakub is currently finalising his PhD in Bioscience Engineering at KU Leuven. Building on the systems-oriented approach, Jakub’s PhD research shifted to modelling plant growth under controlled greenhouse environments. His work has been shaped by diverse interdisciplinary projects involving plant physiology, environmental modelling, and data science. Jakub has collaborated closely with experimentalists, engineers, and computational scientists to co-develop models and tools designed to support real-world decision-making. His modelling efforts aimed to enhance sustainability, improve resource efficiency, and offer predictive insights into biological and environmental systems.
At B12 Consulting, Jakub brings a systems-thinking approach and a strong foundation in computational modelling, software development and applied data analysis. He is motivated by the opportunity to create well-structured, impactful tools that help clients make sense of complex systems and processes. He brings a passion for clarity, structure, and the long-term value that thoughtful tools can provide across industries.
Outside of work, Jakub enjoys spending time in nature, playing board games with friends, and working on DIY projects at home. He appreciates activities that involve building, curiosity, and creativity – whether that means fixing something practical or exploring new ideas.
